About Greenhouse Canine

Greenhouse Canine is Jake Duel's operation, based out of Old Hickory, with a second trainer, Riley, on the team. The stated goal is "down to earth, reliable and affordable dog training", and the pricing is published in full, which makes it easy to compare against other Nashville options.

What you can book here

The Hybrid Program is a three-week intensive in the trainer's home with weekly go-home sessions, $2,999. Day Training runs 9am-5pm drop-off at the Greenhouse facility at $125/day with a three-day minimum, aimed at dogs who need public outings, confidence building, repetition work or structured "daycare". One-on-one lessons are $175/hour in your home or $125 for up to 90 minutes at the facility – the facility lessons were marked FULL FOR SUMMER at the time of reading. Group classes are twice-weekly outings to local parks working obedience, confidence and socialization, at $25 a class. A free 15-minute exploration call is the front door, covering training styles, timelines and realistic results.

Method and tools

Jake states it plainly: "I use a wide variety of training methods spanning across the classical and operant spectrum. I DO use e-collars and training tools for dogs and owners who earn them. It is a privilege to wield these tools, not a punishment." He is equally blunt about credentials – "While I do have multiple training certifications, it's experience that matters, not titles."

Background

A Long Island native who says he has trained in New York, Texas, North Carolina and Tennessee, with a long background in dog rescue. After managing a dog-walking company he attended Starmark Dog Training Academy in Austin, then took an internship training protection and detection dogs. He says he continues his education by attending seminars and working regularly with other local trainers.

One thing worth knowing

Current clients get access to a client network sheet to find other owners in their neighborhood for pack walks, play dates and training together – a community layer most single-trainer businesses do not run.

What they can help with

Sessions in your own home, where many behavior problems actually happen.
Sit, stay, recall and reliable commands, from beginner to advanced.
