Happy Dogs on The Hill is a Capitol Hill dog training and pet sitting business in Washington, DC, run by trainer Leticia, who has worked with and trained dogs professionally since 2013. She is certified in dog obedience training (ABC-DT) through Animal Behavior College and is a Fear Free Certified Professional, and she has taken courses with Michael Shikashio, Dunbar Academy, and the Karen Pryor Academy. Her approach is evidence-based positive reinforcement and repetition.

Training

Private in-home sessions cost $120 an hour and cover obedience skills and problem behaviors such as reactivity, jumping, and nipping, with online sessions as an option. Owners learn loose-leash walking, recall, off-leash training, and passing dogs and people calmly, and a 4-session package is recommended. Leticia also works on puppy training, new rescues (separation anxiety, socialization, shyness), advanced obedience including Canine Good Citizen protocols, and agility training. Trainer-led walks start at $30 and a 30-minute reinforcement session is $60.
