Hart to Heart Canine Training is the home of Nose-Centric Dog Training and Rehabilitation, a system that uses a dog's natural behaviors, especially sniffing, to support recovery from fear, improve behavior and reduce reactivity. The trainer has studied and rehabilitated dogs for 15 years.

Fearful and feral dogs

The specialty is severely fearful and feral dogs that shut down around people: the method meets them where they are and builds toward taking food, accepting touch and a leash, coming when called and living a fuller life. Reactive dogs are also a focus.

Ways to work together

One-on-one lessons are offered in person in the Albuquerque and Santa Fe areas and virtually anywhere, covering fearful and feral dog rehabilitation as well as leash walking, polite behavior, puppy raising and reactivity. Online courses, workshops and consulting for other trainers on challenging cases are also available.
