Hayes Professional Dog Training
Overview
About Hayes Professional Dog Training
A long-running Victor school
Hayes Professional Dog Training in Victor says it has been training dogs since 1972. It is owned and operated by Sue Hayes, who lives on the premises and is credited with over 40 years of experience, and the school says it has seen more than 20,000 dogs of all breeds, with many students returning with second and third dogs.
Approach
Classes are taught with positive reinforcement, praise and showing the dog how to be successful, and Sue favors that over forceful negative correction that confuses a dog. The goal is for students and dogs to have fun, whether training for formal obedience trials or family life, and the school trains all personalities from shy to bold.
Classes and services
Group and private classes are held at an indoor training facility for dogs 3 months and older, most meeting 1 hour per week over 6 weeks. Levels run from beginning through advanced obedience and specialized training, including preparation for AKC, CKC and UKC obedience titles. A boarding school, in-home assistance, heated and cooled boarding, doggie daycare, grooming and pickup and delivery from Sula to Missoula round out the services on a 5 acre farmlike setting.
