About Highland Canine Training – Wilkesboro

Highland Canine Training's Wilkesboro branch sits at the far northern edge of this metro's reach and is run by a named trainer with his own phone number and his own published price list. It is the branch in this area that leads with residential training rather than classes.

What you can book here

Three routes are published for Wilkesboro clients: private lessons, behavior modification and board and train programs. Board and train is the branch's headline – Basic at $1,750, Advanced at $2,150 and a Bootcamp program at $3,550, with a $100 deposit. The page describes the residential setting as a comfortable and secure indoor facility with climate control. Private lessons are $799 basic and $1,249 advanced; behavior modification is $1,099; an Owner's Choice program is $529 and a Reactive Dog program $579. In-home training is published as its own tier – $999 basic, $1,399 advanced, $1,999 total and $1,599 for behavior modification – and trailing lessons with certification are listed at $1,200.

The trainer

Matt McKeown is named as the Wilkesboro trainer. The page describes him as a lifelong dog lover and native of Australia who came to the United States to study at the company's school for dog trainers and stayed to train professionally. His career began as a police and military working-dog trainer with an emphasis on detection and trailing; the page says his focus has since shifted to pet dogs and their owners, with obedience training and behavior modification as his current focal points.

Where he works
