Innovative K9 Academy in Spanish Fork

Innovative K9 Academy trains puppies and adult dogs at its location at 5310 S 3200 W in Spanish Fork. Head trainer David Broderick graduated from the Michael Ellis School for Dog Trainers, is a member of the International Association of Canine Professionals, and is an AKC Canine Good Citizen evaluator. He and his dog Idole placed 2nd at the 2016 Mondioring World Championship in Belgium. The team's trainers learned their core skills at the Michael Ellis School and keep up their education through seminars and competition.

Method

The academy describes proven, reward-based techniques that build trust and confidence through positive reinforcement, in a science-based approach. Dogs go home with the educator collar they were trained with, and owners get a transition lesson plus videos on walking, recall and handling.

Programs

The Puppy School board-and-train program for puppies under 5 months covers obedience, house training, socialization and confidence. Adult board-and-train retreats for dogs over 5 months handle obedience, impulse control and behavior problems such as walking off leash. Small group classes and private sessions are offered, along with specialized courses for agility, therapy dogs and service dog training. Split payments and financing are available.
