About K9 Guidance

Obedience and protection on a Woodstock property

K9 Guidance trains at 15204 Kishwaukee Valley Rd in Woodstock, and the site describes it as "a Dog Training school ran by Luis Meszaros" offering "a safe and spacious environment for one-on-one or group training." The stated aim is "to provide a service which results in a stronger bond between owner and dog through mastery of obedience and protection training."

Method

The site's own summary line is "Assert . Reward . Praise ." and it states that "K9 Training firmly believes in positive reinforcement training. Using food and praise to teach is an essential part to our program." The about page describes the trainer's methods as "centered around positive reinforcement, establishing mutual respect, and assertive ownership," and notes that he teaches "not only the dog but the owner as well."

Classes and schedule

Group classes are published for two days a week: a Wednesday evening obedience class for all ages, and a Sunday morning run that starts with an all-ages group class for pet owners, then a puppy class followed by protection training, then an adult class followed by protection. The site says individual classes can be scheduled by calling the office, and a Schutzhund section sits in the main navigation alongside training services.
