About K9 Obedience Unleashed

K9 Obedience Unleashed trades on one name – "K9 Obedience Unleashed By David Oliver – Dog Training Services In Virginia Beach and Surrounding Cities" – and sells two things.

The two-week board and train, specified by outcome

Rather than describing a philosophy, the site lists what the dog comes home able to do: "BOARD & TRAIN – Dog boards two weeks with an expert trainer learning: Extended Sit and Extended Down, Loose Leash Walking and Off Leash Walking, Come to you immediately, Door Manners". That is a short, checkable list – extended stays, loose-leash and off-leash walking, an immediate recall and door manners – and it makes the program easy to compare against the two and three week residentials elsewhere in the area.

Private training

The alternative is "PRIVATE DOG TRAINING", scoped by the problems it takes on: "We address common behavioral issues such as leash pulling, disobedience, jumping, and even aggression". Aggression being named explicitly matters, because several trainers in this metro decline it.

The affiliation

One membership is claimed: "Member: The Association of Professional Dog Trainers". APDT membership is a professional association rather than an assessed certification like CPDT-KA – worth knowing the difference, and worth asking whether a certification sits behind it.

What to ask

Ask about prices, the training method, the equipment used for the off-leash work and the facility – for a two-week residential, where the dog sleeps is a fair question to ask before booking.
