About Kindwise Pet Training and Behavior Consulting

Behavior consulting first, with sports on the side

Kindwise Pet Training is run from an office in Stoughton, WI and leads with the line "Compassionate guidance for lasting behavior change." The home page groups the work into four areas: puppy raising, behavior problems, "Basic Obedience and Manners," and dog sports. The behavior framing is central – "We can help you restore harmony in your home by solving your dog's behavior problems. Tori will help you understand why they are occurring and give you the tools to overcome these issues."

How sessions run, and what they cost

The services page is unusually specific. An in-person behavior consultation is "90 minutes in your home," starting with history, goals and "a personalized plan that includes behavior modification, starting on exercises, and a management plan to help get immediate relief in your household," with written instructions for every exercise discussed. Published rates are "$250 for a 90 minute in-home initial consultation," $195 per 60-minute in-home follow-up and $150 per 60-minute remote follow-up, with packages also listed. A remote track exists in parallel, with a $175 initial consultation over Zoom and $125 per remote session after it. A Walk & Train option has the trainer "work on your dog's attention with environmental distractions and loose leash walking," sold as packages of five or ten sessions. The service area is stated as "within 20 miles of our office in Stoughton, WI," with a travel fee outside it.

Puppies, classes and sports

Puppy work is offered through "private lessons and online courses," and the site names "Family Puppy, Sport Puppy, and Scent Puppy classes." Online classes are sold as multi-chapter recorded courses – Family Puppy is listed at $120 one time or $30 for four months. For sport handlers, the site says "Tori is well versed in scent sports, dock diving, and sport dog foundations."

The trainer

The about page is written in the first person by Tori Peterson Keyser, who says she has trained "everything from a yak to geckos," also owns Space Cat Academy for cat behavior, and "has been a Program Director for CATCH Canine Trainer's Academy since 2021, teaching human students all over the world how to become professional dog trainers." The services page credits her with "over 10 years of experience working with dogs of all breeds and temperaments," a Master's of Science degree in Anthrozoology and a Bachelor's of Science degree in Small Animal Science. The philosophy is stated as "a base in Least Invasive, Minimally Aversive (LIMA) training techniques, with a focus in the positive reinforcement quadrant."
