Training and boarding in Liberty Hill

KJ K9 is a dog training and boarding business at 1310 Ranch to Market Road 1869 in Liberty Hill, serving Central Texas communities including Austin, Georgetown, Round Rock, Cedar Park, Leander, Temple and Killeen. In-person services are by appointment, Monday to Friday 8am-6pm, starting with a free consultation.

Programs

Board and train programs emphasize owner education alongside obedience and behavior correction. Private lessons tackle reactivity, leash pulling and obedience with guided homework. Behavior modification covers reactivity, anxiety and aggression. KJ K9 also offers AKC Canine Good Citizen testing and AKC title prep, drive and temperament assessments, scent work, detection and tracking, decoy services for protection sports, advanced obedience, off-leash and e-collar training, daycare and day training, and one-on-one structured boarding.

The trainer

Founder and training director Kelley Ortega reports over 12 years of experience working with animals and six years training dogs professionally, plus four years as a decoy in PSA and IGP. She describes a balanced, real-world approach based on respect, structure and clear communication, and her own dogs serve as demo dogs.
