About Lakeland Dog Training Center

Who runs it and where

Lakeland Dog Training Center prints its own contact block as "LAKELAND DOG TRAINING CENTER / Patt Wegmann / 11004 BLUE LAKE ROAD / VILLAGE FARM & KENNELS / MINOCQUA, WISCONSIN 54548." One operator and one phone number are published for the whole program.

Two venues, one program

The contact page is explicit that the location changes with the season: "FALL/WINTER/SPRING CLASSES ARE HELD AT THE MINOCQUA COMMUNITY CENTER GYM, 414 Menominee Street, Minocqua, WI" and "SUMMER CLASSES ARE HELD AT THE LAKELAND DOG TRAINING CENTER, VILLAGE FARM & KENNELS, 11004 Blue Lake Road, Minocqua, WI. 54548." Village Farm & Kennels is the host premises for the summer classes, not a separate business.

What you can book

The class list is the center of the site. "OBEDIENCE 101 aka. GOOD MANNERS CLASS" is published as "an 8 week class for Baby Puppy's (9 weeks and older) and ALL BEGINNER DOGS," and the site adds "WE incorporate the AKC STAR PUPPY into our 101 class." Beyond that first class the site lists "AKC CANINE GOOD CITIZEN 'CGC'," "AKC OBEDIENCE (CD/CDX/UD)," "AGILITY/CONFIDENCE 101 (beginners)" and "TRACKING." Format is flexible: "OUR Classes are either group or private lessons in any of the above."

The K9 Boot Camp class

The site also runs something it calls "K9 BOOT CAMP," and its own description makes clear this is a weekly class rather than a residency: "a 8 week 'Pot Luck' sampler of the many aspects of Dog Training. From Search n Rescue to Retrieving/Tracking/Neat Tricks/Scent work/Jumping/CONFIDENCE Agility," with a prerequisite of "our OB. 101 or another such class." The about page publishes its price as "K9 Boot Camp at Village Farm $100.00"; ask about prices for the other classes.

Before you book

Therapy training is mentioned as one item inside the boot camp sampler's blurb. Ask which certifications the trainer holds.
