About Learn and Live Dog Training

Learn & Live Dog Training works from Hickory Grove in Charlotte and is explicit about what it does not sell: "We don't offer generic lesson packages because we've seen too many owners spend months struggling without real progress." It specializes instead in immersive board and train.

The program

Board and train is the core offer, run in a real home environment rather than a warehouse, kennel or high-volume facility. The program includes owner lessons on using the tools and commands, a premium equipment bundle of e-collar, prong and leash, frequent training updates through the stay, and post-graduation support. The published issue list is leash pulling, jumping on guests, unreliable recall, fear and anxiety in specific situations, destructive or anxious behavior when left alone, and dogs that cannot settle and bark or whine for attention.

Who it says it is for

The site positions itself as the second or third stop for clients whose dogs did not improve with other programs, and says its schedules are deliberately small – no cookie-cutter programs and no crowded calendar.

Method and continuing education

The approach is balanced. The site lists the seminars and workshops the trainer has attended by name, including work on the neurobiology of aggression and unlearning, a canine aggression remediation seminar, a play and social responsibility workshop and a training fundamentals seminar. The trainer's own route in is published: she started as a volunteer service dog raiser and moved into full-time training after struggling with her own reactive and aggressive dogs.

Who it’s best for

Best for an owner who has already tried lessons without success and wants an immersive program in a home setting, and who is comfortable with an e-collar and prong in the bundle.
