About LeMaster K9

What they offer

LeMaster K9 is a Santa Clarita dog training business run by Heatherlyn LeMaster, whose background spans pet and rescue dogs as well as search-and-rescue and police K9 training. It trains in person around Saugus, Valencia, Newhall, Canyon Country and Castaic and parts of the San Fernando and Antelope valleys, and offers virtual training for clients farther away.

Programs

Private sessions start with the owner's goals and a custom plan, take place at the client's home or a prearranged location, and come with notes and homework. Group sessions, open after at least three private sessions, work on advanced skills around other dogs. Private board and train welcomes a limited number of dogs into the trainer's home and is recommended for more significant behavior cases. Drop-in training takes current clients' dogs on field trips for exercise and training.

Topics

Training covers leash pulling, barking and lunging at other dogs, fear and anxiety, destructive behavior when left alone, basic manners, puppies, tricks and nose work. The business offers a discount on the first sessions for dogs adopted from the county's Castaic care center.
