About Santa Clarita Valley Dog Agility Club
What they offer
Santa Clarita Valley Dog Agility Club teaches dog agility to dogs of all breeds at its site on Lost Creek Road in Saugus, with a main agility ring and a ring for bootcamp classes. Its instructor, Tammy Robinson, competes and holds national agility titles.
Classes
New dogs start with private lessons to meet the equipment, then move into six-week Bootcamp Agility 1 and 2. Dogs that have learned basic obedience, stay connected to their handler and are comfortable on the equipment graduate to open and advanced agility classes on Tuesday, Wednesday and Thursday evenings, which also prepare teams for their first agility events. An obedience class comes first for junior handlers.
Private lessons
One-on-one lessons cover basic obedience, advanced commands and manners, starting with an in-person consultation that evaluates the dog's temperament and goals. The club says it uses several methods, including positive reinforcement.
