Love Wags A Tail Dog Training specializes in board-and-train for dogs and puppies, serving Weston, Southwest Ranches, Davie, Fort Lauderdale, Plantation and the rest of Broward County. Owner and trainer Helen Verte works hands-on around the clock in a home environment, training only two dogs at a time while they live with her. She uses positive training with food, praise and humane consequences, then teaches owners the same rules so the training carries over at home. Helen holds the CPDT-KA (Certified Pet Dog Trainer-Knowledge Assessed) credential, is a Certified Trick Dog Instructor and is certified in training and counseling, and she provides continuing education for the Florida Board of Veterinary Medicine.

What dogs learn

Board-and-train dogs and puppies work on housebreaking, basic obedience, socializing, impulse control, body handling, pet manners and tricks. Helen also helps with leash pulling, jumping up, crate tantrums, charging the door, counter surfing, barking, grabbing and nipping. After the stay she teaches owners how to maintain and grow the new behaviors, with email support once the dog goes home.
