About Florida Canine Center

Behavior modification in Weston

Florida Canine Center is a Weston dog training and behavior business run by trainer Henrique, who specializes in behavior modification and aggression. His path began after adopting Zeus, a seven-month-old stray from an Orlando shelter, in 2018; the dog had anxiety and PTSD and showed aggression under stress, and years of research into training methods to keep him in the family led to the business. Henrique believes combining several training techniques brings the most success for dogs with trauma and aggression, and that every dog deserves a chance to find its family. He also runs a YouTube channel on training and has a background teaching Kung Fu and Brazilian Jiu Jitsu.

Services

The most popular service is private sessions of about an hour, planned in advance around a dog's specific issues and focused on teaching the owner to communicate with the dog, build the relationship and correct unwanted behavior. The Board & Train is a two- to four-week boot camp of consistent training, exercise, mental stimulation and socialization, tailored to each dog. It can cover foundational commands such as sit, down, implied stay, heel, place and recall, behavior modification for leash pulling, fear, reactivity and aggression, and off-leash training where the dog is ready, and it ends with a mandatory session for owner and dog together.
