About LOVETOWALKDOGSVT
Pack walks and socialization in Montpelier
LOVETOWALKDOGSVT serves Montpelier and surrounding areas with pack walks, private walks and socialization training. Its founder, Alexandra, describes herself as self-taught, or better put, dog-taught, and says it all started with Woody in 2012, a high-anxiety, fear-reactive shelter dog she worked with through obedience classes, dog psychology study and practice with friends' dogs until he became non-reactive and earned his Canine Good Citizen certification.
Rescue background
Alexandra volunteered with Paws New England, a foster-based rescue, starting in 2014. Over seven years she fostered 36 dogs in her home, all of whom needed socialization work, and handled adoption applications, home visits and introductions for many more. Woody and her second dog Juno helped with that work, and she says Woody now models calm, neutral behavior around reactive dogs.
Approach
Her stated mission is to serve the Vermont dog community by teaching, transforming and supporting happy dogs and their people, creating social environments where dogs can thrive.
