About Ortega Dog Training & Behavior

Choice-based training in Lewisville

Ortega Dog Training & Behavior is a Lewisville-based business founded by Judy Ortega, a certified trainer and behavior specialist. She lists the certifications CPDT-KA, CPDT-KSA, FFC and PCBC, is an AKC evaluator and judge, and says she has worked with over a thousand dogs over more than 6 years. Her method is choice-based reinforcement, an approach first developed to help children self-regulate, which teaches dogs to think and make confident decisions through positive reinforcement and thoughtful setup rather than commands and corrections.

Services

Judy covers puppy training and socialization, including crate and potty training and bite inhibition; basic to advanced obedience with an on-leash to off-leash progression; leash reactivity, fear, aggression, separation anxiety, resource guarding and multi-dog household conflict; AKC S.T.A.R. Puppy, Canine Good Citizen, Urban Canine and temperament testing; and therapy and service dog prep. Sessions take place at the client's home or another convenient location, with discounted packages and lifetime support for past clients.
