About Packerland Kennel Club Inc
Who they are
Packerland Kennel Club is not a commercial trainer. Its own description reads: "Packerland Kennel Club (PKC) is a non-profit organization, staffed by volunteers and is a sanctioned club of the American Kennel Club (AKC). PKC's experienced, well-trained volunteers have been helping dog owners in the Green Bay area train their dogs since 1957." The header carries the line "Licensed member of the American Kennel Club," the address published at the foot of the page is "2031 Bellevue Street, Green Bay, WI 54311," and the contact line is "Questions? Call: (920) 468-5580 or Email: info@packerlandkennelclub.com."
When classes run
Scheduling is one of the club's stated selling points: "Packerland Kennel Club offers dog training classes on weekday evenings, some weekday mornings, and some Saturday mornings. Everyone is welcome to come and watch classes." Classes run in sessions – the downloads listed on the home page include a "2026 Class Schedule – Session 4" and a "2026 Training Application." The site states a membership requirement for enrollment: "All members are required to sign up for classes and complete a Training Application, please download your form as found below."
What is taught
The classes menu lists, in the club's own order: "Puppy Socialization, Beginners Obedience, Novice Obedience, Open Obedience, Utility, CGC, Rally, Agility, AKC FIT DOG, Puppy Foundations." The range is described as running from pet manners to competition prep: "We offer classes for companion dogs, as well as classes to prepare for AKC events. Our classes range from introduction and beginners, to advanced levels that prepare you for Conformation, Obedience, Canine Good Citizen, Rally, and Agility."
Beyond classes
The club runs events as well as training. The home page links to an "AKC All-Breed Obedience & Rally Trials" premium, an "August 2026 Agility Trial Premium," a "June Agility Premium" and a "Volunteer Sign Up for FastCAT Trial." Other club activities listed include a "PawPrint Newsletter" – "Packerland Kennel Club's newsletter is full of great ideas to keep your dog healthy and happy" – plus "Outreach/Community Involvement," "Volunteer Hours," a youth program and an online store. Membership is pitched separately: "Membership has many benefits including access to a select breeder directory."
Why owners are told to train
The home page publishes its own list of reasons, which doubles as a statement of what the classes are for: training "Strengthens the owner/pet bond," "Teaches your dog to be more social," "Could save your dog's life," "Helps your dog to become more responsive," "Allows you to take your dog to more places," "Builds communication, understanding, and mutual respect," "Teaches your dog good manners."
Before you book
The home page links to individual class pages, an instructor list, a calendar and a class application form; ask about class fees, session lengths and class sizes.
