About Miller Heights K9 Academy
Who they are
Miller Heights K9 Academy publishes its address as "3185 S. Ridge Road Green Bay, Wisconsin 54304" and its phone as "(920)265-8734." The home page describes the business as "Your Dog's Second Home & Second Family" and carries the tagline "Training For Both Ends Of The Leash." The about page is a statement of intent rather than a biography: "We believe in a life lived to the fullest with our best friends by our side. A relationship where both ends of the leash give their best selves and add value to each moment."
What you can book
The home page sets out three lanes – "Work," "Play" and "Stay" – and names the training formats as "Board and Train – One on One – Day Train." The services page expands them:
– **Board and Train** – "Full immersive training to get your dog in tip top shape. Leave the work to us and get your training journey started off the right way. First we teach your dog, then we teach you!" It lists "UNLIMITED follow up lessons for life," "Free access to all MHK9 community events" and "Reduced daycare and boarding rates."
– **One on One** – "You do most of the work! We guide you through it. One on one sessions are great for owners and dogs that need a little direction!"
– **Group Classes** – "You do all of the work! Join us in a group setting where we talk you through basic manners and obedience exercises. This option is not for dogs with any behavioral issues."
What the training covers
The services page publishes an unusually detailed syllabus. Under basic obedience and manners: "Recall Sit Down Place Leave It Wait Stay Heel Polite Greetings" and "Nuisance Behaviors (Jumping up, Barking, Mouthing Digging…)." Under life skills: "Crate Training Potty Training Confidence Building Calming Over Excitement Socialization Desensitization Listening Skills Off Leash Training E Collar Training." The owner-education list is longer still and includes "Leash Handling Skills," "Reading Your Dog's Body Language," "Hand Feeding Meals," "Structured Walking," "Building an Off Switch," "The 3 D's (Duration, Distance, Distraction)," "E Collar Usage" and "Addressing Behavioral Concerns."
Boarding, daycare and price
Training is quoted on request – the services page says "Training: Contact us for programs and pricing" and offers a "Free Consultation." The care side is priced: "Daycare $25/Day or $100/Week," with "Limited spots. 5-7 Dogs per play group," "Small Scale, Structured Day Play," "Available M-F 7AM-5PM" and "Reduced rates for dogs who have completed our training program." Boarding is "$45/Night," with "No minimum. Daycare included. Please supply your own food." Day play is positioned as reinforcement rather than free-for-all: "Day Play at Miller Heights is structured to ensure all of the hard work you put in on your dog's manners is reinforced and no bad habits are being picked up during their time here."
Before you book
Ask how long each program runs, how many sessions it includes, what it costs and who will train your dog.
