Family kennel in Pattison

Pecan Hill Kennel is a large family-owned kennel on fifty acres in Pattison, near Brookshire, family owned and operated since 1986. It was started by Pete Thuman and his wife Leslie; Pete is credited as a hunting, obedience and field trial champion trainer who trained thousands of dogs. Leslie, her daughter and son-in-law Meghan and Jose, and the kennel team carry on the business.

Training

Services cover home obedience, hunt training and conditioning for anything from a personal hunting companion to a field champion, and short-term, long-term and special-circumstance boarding. Training follows a four-step process of teaching, training, reinforcing and correcting, worked throughout the day. All training packages include boarding, and the kennel guarantees results with each full package. Half the training cost is due at drop-off. The kennel has also held snake avoidance clinics.
