About Personal Family Dog Trainer

A Viola-based program builder serving the Quad Cities

Personal Family Dog Trainer lists an address of 2371 95th Ave, Viola, IL 61486 and a phone number of (309) 738-9437. Its About page says the business "was established in 2011, a small local company operating solely in the immediate Quad Cities area," that it began expanding its service area in 2012, was "working on a regional level" by 2016, and "in 2019 we built our first facility and began expanding our focus to online programs and internship options." The same page credits its instructors with "over 30 years of combined dog training experience."

How the training is organized

Rather than a single class list, the site is built around three stacked programs, each offered as a board-and-train, as private sessions and as an online program: The Ultimate Puppy, Companion Dog and Family Dog. The Family Dog page describes itself as building on what a dog learned in the Companion Dog program, with an emphasis on manners in public. Separately, Behavioral Help is offered for harder cases, which the site says have included "aggressive reactions, fearful behaviors, and inappropriate responses to people, animals, or objects in general."

Smaller commitments and specialty work

A La Carte Courses break the programs into single topics for owners who cannot commit to a full program, and the site is explicit that they "do not have the same perks as purchasing a Program." Specialty Programs are described as offerings kept outside the general curriculum, and the examples given are carting, tracking, noise reactivity reduction and "De-boarding The Counter Surfer." The site states it works with dogs of all breeds and sizes and never denies a client on that basis. Ask about fees when you get in touch.
