Petco Dog Training in Ivy City holds classes at the Petco store at 1503 New York Ave NE in Washington, DC, which also has grooming. Training hours run 9:00 AM to 9:00 PM Monday through Saturday and 10:00 AM to 8:00 PM on Sunday.
Group classes
The store offers six-week group classes of hour-long sessions with up to four other dogs, at $149 per course. Puppy (8 to 16 weeks) covers potty training, socialization, and first cues. Beginner (16 weeks to 6 months) moves on to loose-leash walking, leave it, wait, and tricks. Fundamentals, for dogs 6 months and up, covers sit, down, come, leave it, wait, loose-leash walking, and curbing jumping and barking. Advanced works on heel, recall with distractions, and polite greetings.
Private lessons
Private 45-minute sessions with a certified trainer start with a $39 Private Lesson 101 for new customers, and packages cost $249 for four sessions or $329 for six.
