About Pondside Retrievers

About

Pondside Retrievers, on Case Hill Rd in Treadwell, breeds AKC-registered yellow and fox red Labrador Retrievers and also teaches dog training. Its training page introduces the trainer as Diane DeDominicis, who writes that she has been "training dogs since I was in high school" and that her family has had "well over 150 rescue dogs" through their home. The family takes part in agility, scent work and rally obedience with its own dogs.

Training

The business says it specializes in positive reinforcement training and offers both group training classes and private training sessions, with each program running five weeks. The basic class covers communication and manners for a new dog or puppy, including sit, down, stay, recall and walking politely on leash, along with play biting and jumping up. A more advanced class prepares dogs for the AKC Canine Good Citizen award. Group classes are $100 for the five-week program.

Contact

Upcoming group classes are announced on its Facebook page, and private sessions remain available. Reach it at pondsideretrievers@gmail.com or (607) 287-0554.
