About Pupsties

Dog psychology and ranch boarding

Pupsties is a family-owned Houston business offering dog psychology, training and boarding. It started with one goal, helping people understand their dogs through calm, balanced training, and now also offers boarding on a 5-acre ranch 30 minutes west of Houston, with outdoor space, structured care and indoor A/C.

The founder

Founder Alejandro Romero, a veteran of the oil and gas industry, rehabilitated his own rescued boxers, Nacho and Tana, for aggression and anxiety before taking in a third street dog, Coyo. Pupsties, named by his children, was established in 2021. Its approach puts a dog's needs and perspective first and concentrates on dog psychology rather than obedience school, drawing on Alejandro's work with his own dogs and those of family and friends.

Training

Dog psychology sessions are personalized and focus on communication, trust and understanding a dog's behavior, under the motto that there is always hope to modify a dog's behavior, whatever its age or past.

What to ask

Ask where sessions take place, how many are typical, and what training and boarding cost.

What they can help with
