About Reality K9 Dog Training

Behavior and obedience training in San Antonio

Reality K9 is a dog training business helping San Antonio owners with good dogs that have tough problems, under the motto "We specialize in hope." It works with all breeds and temperaments, offers custom training plans and guarantees results, and the first consultation is free.

What it helps with

Reality K9 focuses on aggression, reactivity on walks, separation anxiety, fighting between dogs in the same home, resource guarding, housebreaking and counter surfing, as well as off-leash, real-world obedience.

Programs and prices

The Board & Train has the dog stay and train throughout each day for advanced off-leash obedience, then the owner is taught to handle the dog. All equipment is included, pick-up and drop-off are provided at no additional cost, go-home weekends are built into the schedule, and the on- and off-leash program runs 4-6 weeks for $3,500. In-home training costs $120 per session: weekly one-hour lessons tailored to obedience, aggression or housebreaking goals, with homework between sessions.

Method

Reality K9 practices what it calls Foundation Style Dog Training, guided by LIMA principles. Behaviors are taught with positive reinforcement, and the dog is then shown how to escape and avoid corrections for disobeying, keeping its motivation and happiness while building reliable obedience.
