About Resolve Canine Training
Private training around Lamoille County
Resolve Canine Training is run by Patrick Smith, a dog trainer based in Jeffersonville who works with clients in Essex, Morrisville, Stowe, St Albans and across Lamoille, Franklin and parts of Chittenden county. Coming from an animal welfare background, he says he is passionate about keeping dogs in homes and asks owners facing possible surrender to reach out if cost is a barrier.
How sessions work
Training starts with a free phone consult. Sessions coach owners through play, basic obedience, training protocols, maintenance and communication, starting by improving clarity and leadership between person and dog, most often through play, then teaching the dog what is and is not expected. Most sessions take place at the client's house or a neutral site, and each one is followed by an email summary. When working a dog solo elsewhere is more productive, there is a $25 fee.
Prices
A single session of an hour to an hour and a half is $125. A 6 session package is $675 and a 12 session package is $1,500. For Mansfield Kennels clients, half-hour enrichment sessions focused on obedience groundwork are $50, or $325 for a five-session package with a take-home lesson.
