About Ridgeside K9 Nashville
Ridgeside K9 Nashville is a board-and-train operation based in Goodlettsville, on the Davidson-Sumner line, working across Nashville, Chattanooga and Middle Tennessee.
What they publish
The program list is built around residencies of set length: Puppy Training as the foundation program; Basic Obedience over two weeks, aimed at off-leash recall, impulse control and leash and door manners; Aggression Training over four weeks, described as helping canine-reactive and human-reactive dogs reach neutrality; Deaf Dog Training over three weeks, using sign and cue-based training; and AKC Canine Good Citizen test preparation over three weeks. Consultations for the deaf-dog and CGC tracks are listed at $99 for an hour. Financing is offered.
How the training runs
Two things are emphasized. The first is where the dog lives: rather than a kennel, dogs stay in a trainer's home and become, in their words, part of the pack, with daily photo and video updates and a personal drop-off at the end. The second is owner training. Every program ends with three to four hours showing the owner what the dog has learned, on the stated reasoning that dogs are not "set it and forget it" creatures. After that they offer what they call a Lifetime Support Guarantee – ongoing availability for questions, plus pack walks and client events – with no extra charge for getting in touch.
Their stated focus
The problem list they say they work with is leash walking, uncontrollable barking, aggression toward dogs and people, biting and nipping, stubbornness, digging and missing basic obedience. The overall framing is balanced training with clarity of communication as the starting point, and neutrality – a dog that can be calm anywhere regardless of distraction – as the goal.
Practical notes
All dogs, puppies included, must be up to date on rabies, DHPP and bordetella before onboarding, and shot records have to be provided in advance. Contact them for current program prices and availability.
