About Sit Means Sit Dog Training Wilmington NC

Sit Means Sit Dog Training Wilmington NC operates from 3721 Carolina Beach Rd and runs the franchise's attention-based system, which its pages credit to founder and CEO Fred Hassen. The promise on the front page is blunt: "Any Dog. Any Age. Any Breed. Any Problem."

Programs

The published training programs are Day & Train, Private Lessons, Puppy Preschool and Group Class. Day & Train is a drop-off format with the dog going home in the evening. Private Lessons are one-on-one with a trainer, structured so the owner is "part of every step". Puppy Preschool covers the first 20 weeks. Group Class comes after a program is complete and is described as being for improving socialization with other dogs and people.

Behavior work

A separate menu covers behavior modification: aggressive, high anxiety and fear, high distraction, off-leash and reactive. The site explains reactivity and fear as often stemming "from factors like inadequate socialization, fear, stress, or negative past experiences", and the stated mission "goes beyond teaching basic commands – we're dedicated to addressing the root causes of your dog's behavioral challenges". Off-leash is treated as the end of the same road: "Off-leash freedom starts with reliable obedience", built through attention to command and then distraction training.

Who runs it

The team page names Shawn Rause as owner and head trainer, and says his own route into training began when he adopted his first dog, Airlie, while at UNCW.
