About Soulful Strut K9

A Hampton Roads trainer working from Virginia Beach

Soulful Strut K9 is run by a CPDT-KA certified trainer who says she has trained dogs in Hampton Roads (and the Dallas/Fort Worth area) since 2014. Group classes meet at her home in the Hilltop area of Virginia Beach, with the address sent on registration.

Services

Work starts with a required basic evaluation. From there the menu covers basic and advanced obedience, public access obedience, behavior modification for mild to severe aggression and reactivity, full days of training, puppy and adult packages, muzzle fitting and introduction, and a two-week board and train for obedience only, taken case by case. Group classes include a New Dog Foundations class and a games class for intermediate to advanced teams. Prices are published on the site.

Method

She describes herself as a balanced trainer who uses a minimally aversive approach that begins with positive reinforcement, and says owners must be present for sessions so they can keep the training going.

What to ask

Ask which package fits your dog after the evaluation, when the next group class session starts, and whether your dog's behavior needs a behavior modification package rather than obedience.
