About The Crafty Pup Dog Training

Online video courses plus in-person training

The Crafty Pup Dog Training is run by Jimmy Cocallas, who introduces himself on the site as going "by Jimmy Cee for short", alongside his Labrador Retriever, Yeti. He writes that he is "the third generation in my family to be training dogs" and that before breaking off on his own he ran the dog training at his family's business, Carriage Hill Kennels, which the site describes as one of the biggest dog kennels in the midwest.

How the business works

The site says The Crafty Pup started as an online dog training business offering video courses that teach owners to train their own dog, and that after leaving the family business it evolved to offer in person training in addition to the online business. The stated mission is to "educate people all over the world on how to properly train their dog", built on the stated belief that "a well trained dog starts with a well trained owner."

Programs

The home page lists basic obedience training for dogs four months and older, described as a program where the trainer trains the dog and then trains the owner, worked on and off leash, with the page stating "No Treats Used. Only Praise" and the dog performing commands on the first command. A Puppy Pre School is listed for puppies eight to fifteen weeks old, covering come, sit and down plus correcting habits such as jumping or nipping, with the aim of teaching good habits early and avoiding bad ones. An online puppy preschool video course is offered with different lengths of stay, and a free video series covering leash walking without pulling, sitting on leash and a top five training tips list is offered through a sign-up on the home page.
