About The Developing Canine Behavior and Training
About
The Developing Canine is Carolyn Weinbaum's Columbus practice, and the site's own tagline is "Teaching Ordinary People to Have Extraordinary Dogs Since 1996." Her About page describes a training career that began with marine mammals – orcas, dolphins, sea lions and seals – before she founded The Developing Canine and moved to Columbus, and says she blends those techniques with traditional dog training into her own style.
Training
The entry point for puppies aged seven to twelve weeks is a Puppy Consultation covering potty training, socialization and behavior foundations. The main program, Best Dog Ever, works toward off-leash reliability and a calmer home. Graduates move on to Polishing Classes, described as "the proving ground for a truly seamless life with your dog", and to structured Pack Walks that reinforce recall and focus around other trained dogs.
Beyond the basics
A Tail Blazers hike and paddle board club is published for off-leash graduates, and Online Coaching is offered for owners who cannot attend in person.
Where they work
The site says it serves Columbus, Georgia and the surrounding areas.
