The Light of Dog
Overview
About The Light of Dog
What they offer
The Light of Dog is a dog training business run from a 14-acre farm in Sedalia by spouses Sue Brown and Eddie Soehnel. Sue conducts all the training; the site says she has provided dog training and behavior counseling since 1996 and has run her business in the south metro since the early 2000s, formerly as Love My Dog Training.
Training formats
Group classes run at indoor and outdoor facilities on the farm, including puppy preschool and basic training classes, with a class schedule on the site. Private training can take place in the home, outdoors, in dog-friendly public places, at the farm, or online by phone, video or email. A self-paced, video-based online course covers topics such as puppy behaviors. Training is positive reinforcement-based, and the farm also has an in-home boarding facility.
Good to know
The about page lists Sue as a certified dog behavior consultant and certified professional dog trainer, and she has written a book on living with adolescent dogs. The farm also rents a fenced private dog park and makes its own dog treats.
