The Meditating Mutt, LLC is a St. Petersburg dog training business founded by Krissy Kay, KPA-CTP, offering personalized, positive training for anxious and reactive dogs. Sessions take place in the client's home or neighborhood across St. Petersburg, Gulfport, St. Pete Beach, Pinellas Park, Seminole, Largo and Tampa.

The trainer

Krissy is a KPA Certified Training Partner and Puppy Start Right certified, holds a B.A. in Psychology from Eckerd College and has a background in applied behavior analysis. She completed a two-year dog training apprenticeship and worked as lead trainer and adoption counselor at a local rescue. Her Meditating Mutt Method blends education, communication, trust, mindfulness and prevention, using positive reinforcement and fear-free, science-backed methods.

Programs and prices

Behavior programs run from a $175 Starter Session to a $1,600 12-week Behavior Transformation for reactivity, anxiety and fear. Puppy programs for puppies 5 months and younger run from a $150 Kickstart Session to the $1,300 Premium Pup. Walk & Train starts at $60 for a 30-minute training walk, for St. Petersburg and Gulfport clients only, and virtual sessions start at $60. She also hosts Rescue Puppy Yoga and other fundraising events.
