The Orlando Dog Trainer is a training, boarding and grooming business based in Howey-In-The-Hills that serves Central Florida, from Clermont, Groveland and Minneola to Leesburg, Mount Dora, Tavares, Apopka and The Villages. Founder Steven came to training while searching for a service dog for his wife, graduated from Animal Behavior College and has run the business since 2020. His approach is rooted in positive reinforcement, using treats and praise and a dog's natural desire to please.
Packages and prices
Basic Training is 8 weeks of one-on-one work on sit, stay, down and come: $800 at the facility or $1600 in your home, with a training collar included. The 2 Week Train takes place on a 5-acre farm with several one-on-one sessions daily: $1,800 at the facility, $2,200 in-home, or $2,000 for one week of each. Advanced Training focuses on off-leash work with verbal and hand signals for $600 at the facility or $1200 in-home, and requires a completed basic course.
Service dog training
Service dog candidates are evaluated first, need a written prescription from a doctor and must pass a Good Citizenship Test. Training is customized for tasks such as mobility assistance, psychiatric support or medical alert, and the cost depends on the tasks.
