About The Pecan Tree Kennel

Bird dogs outside Bellville

The Pecan Tree Kennel is a bird dog kennel outside Bellville, about sixty miles northwest of Houston, on 122 acres of natural quail habitat. It specializes in the training, leasing and sale of English Pointers, English Setters, Brittany Spaniels, German Shorthair Pointers, Boykin Spaniels and other bird dog breeds, and also offers boarding and breeding. Its motto: "We Train Your Dog in the Field – NOT in the Local Coffee Shop!"

Leasing and facilities

In 1995 the kennel added leasing of fully trained bird dogs by the day, week, month or season. Main pens are roofed chain-link runs on concrete with self-feeders and waterers, and the property has recorded surveillance day and night. The kennel describes its training staff as very professional and works with a veterinary clinic for health care. Office secretary Jan Lane has worked there since 1986.
