About The Rovervelt Pet Hotel & Spa

Family-owned pet hotel with training

The Rovervelt Pet Hotel and Spa is a family-owned pet care destination at 128 Sala Avenue in Westwego. It was founded by Ronell LaPorte, a professional dog trainer credited with over 20 years of experience, and offers boarding, daycare, grooming and training with staff on-site around the clock.

Professional training

The Rovervelt's training covers obedience, scent work and personal protection, run as in-house programs and backed by what it describes as 20+ years of hands-on experience. Dogs train in a facility with a climate-controlled indoor play area and a large outdoor playground enclosed by a wooden privacy fence.

Around the facility

Boarding starts from $37 a night, half-day daycare from $15 and grooming from $27, and boarding and daycare guests get live webcam access. The Rovervelt was voted Best of Jefferson Parish 2026, winning in Pet Boarding and Pet Daycare and finishing runner-up in Pet Grooming. It is open Monday through Friday from 7:00 a.m. to 6:00 p.m. and weekends from 8:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m.
