About The Valiant K9, LLC

The Valiant K9, LLC is a small Gainesville operation "Now serving Northern Virginia and Washington DC", and it is one of the few local businesses that states its training philosophy in full rather than in a slogan.

The method, stated plainly

"As balanced trainers we teach both "Yes" and "No" so your dog will have a clear picture on the rules. We focus on positive reinforcement to teach what is appropriate and fair corrections where necessary to create reliable behaviors." The site adds: "We believe every dog is different and we do not subscribe to a cookie-cutter approach that limits how we can help each owner and dog."

What it takes on

The opening questions name the problems: trouble "taking your dog for a simple walk", a dog "struggling with anxiety or aggressive behavior", or "displaying selective hearing". Beyond that the framing is owner-focused – "we are focused on not only training your dog but teaching you how to effectively communicate with them", whether "it's for basic manners or more complex behavioral issues".

How programs are chosen

Not from a menu. "After a free phone consultation, your trainer will be able to determine which program will be suitable for you and your dog's needs." Board and train is clearly part of the offer – two published client reviews describe two-week board-and-train programs with Amber – but neither the program list nor prices appear on the site.

Expectation setting

The site is upfront that training does not end at handover: "Even trained dogs still train. Staying consistent with training will help maintain your dogs behavior for the long run." Puppies should start "Right away!"

Practical details

Contact form responses are promised "within 24 hours", and business hours are "Monday – Friday 10am – 6pm Saturday 10am – 5pm". The site's footer carries a stray line about "Custom Luxury Cake Orders" – a leftover from the page template, not a service.
