About Rebel Dog Training
Questioning conventional training
Rebel Dog Training offers private training and dog camp in the Williston area, for owners who question conventional pet dog training. Programs start with the relationship: through play, dogs learn problem solving, critical thinking and confidence, and only then does work turn to problems such as jumping on guests, reactivity and not coming when called. Trainer Cassidy encourages clients to ask any and all questions, since teaching the owner is part of the job.
Private training
Programs are adjusted to each dog and include the necessary training tools, 1:1 lessons with field trips to work through the dog's challenges, and weekly homework. Clients then join a community for training outings such as running club, mountain biking, kayaking and hiking. Rebel Dog says results depend on the time and effort owners put in.
Dog camp
Dog camp runs Monday through Thursday with pick-up in Williston and Essex, combining off-leash play, swimming and real-life training such as recall around wildlife. Campers must be at least 2 years old, have excellent off-leash recall, get along with other dogs and ride well in the car.
What owners say
One client wrote: "Olive has become much more confident and cooperative and is truly our dream companion."
