About Treats and Tips

Treats & Tips runs two Queens locations: 45-15 34th Avenue on the Astoria and Long Island City border, and 39-10B 47th Avenue in Sunnyside. It combines a dog and cat facility with a supply store, and the services it publishes are grooming, daycare, boarding, behavioral management and supplies.

Behavior and training

Behavior & Training is one of four services with its own page in the navigation, and the business's own headline for itself is "home of your local dog whisperer." The most concrete thing on the site is an open offer rather than a program: dog parents are invited to come by with any behavior-related question and have it answered by the in-house behavior adviser, at no charge. For an owner who is not yet sure whether they need a full training program, that is a genuinely useful front door. Grooming

Grooming is described in more depth than anything else on the site, and thoughtfully: the groomers are presented as intermediaries between owner and vet, positioned to spot ticks, fleas, dry or irritated skin, infections and inflammation early. The full-service groom is itemized – double shampoo and conditioning, full cut and blow-dry, brush and de-shedding, nail clipping, teeth brushing, ear cleaning and gland expression – each with the reason it matters.

Boarding, daycare and supplies

Boarding and daycare run at the facility, and the store carries what the business calls premium supplies with a healthy twist. Every visiting dog gets a free biscuit.

Hours

Astoria is open Monday to Friday 8am to 7pm and Saturday 10am to 5pm, closed Sunday. Sunnyside runs Tuesday to Friday 12pm to 7pm and Saturday 10am to 5pm, closed Sunday and Monday. Each location has its own phone number.
