About University K9 Dog Training

Board and train for on- and off-leash control

University K9 Dog Training is a Clackamas-area training business based at a training and boarding facility on SE Wildcat Mt Dr in Sandy, presenting itself as a Portland dog training program. Founder and owner Chris Ford says he has been in business for 20 years and has trained over 10,000 dogs. The business specializes in on-leash and off-leash control and behavior modification, and also offers private in-home training and a program for people who want to become dog trainers.

The program

The 2-week Board and Train (14 nights) teaches Come, Sit, Place, Wait, Off and Quiet, along with on-leash walking and off-leash recall. Chris describes his method as a third on-leash training, a third off-leash training and a third treat training, applying low pressure to get a well-rounded, confident dog. Dogs also socialize with other dogs, meet new people and follow a predictable schedule. The 2-week Board and Train costs $1,900.00.
