About Weller Kennels/Dog Obedience

Weller Kennels is a veteran-owned training kennel at 250 Zeb Road in New Bern, trading under the line "We Train All Breeds of Dogs".

What they publish

Their own services list is Obedience Training, Retriever Training, Dog Breeding, Collar / Leash Work, Gun Dog Training, Hunt Test Handling and Hunt Test Training, AKC Field Trial Training, a Force Training Program, an Owner Training One-on-One Program and Young Dog Programs. They write that they will "train any breed of dog", "from basic collar / leash work to dealing with more problematic behavioral issues".

The two halves of the business

Obedience is framed for the pet owner: "It's never too late to train a dog when it comes to basic obedience, but the earlier you start the easier and faster it will be", covering ground rules, new commands and leash and collar etiquette. The retriever side runs basic and advanced programs for hunting dogs and for competition, and they put it plainly: "Whether you are looking for a National Champion or a good hunting dog, we strive to make each dog achieve their maximum potential." John Weller and his team are described on the site as avid hunters as well as professional trainers.
