About Digs Dog Care

A Long Grove location of a multi-site care brand

Digs Long Grove sits at 2727 Illinois Route 53 and runs four services: DayPlay daycare, overnight stays, grooming and training. The training philosophy is stated up front: "At Digs, training isn't a one-time service. It's a lifelong partnership built on trust, communication, and a strong foundation… Instead of chasing individual behavior problems, we focus on building reliable obedience and clear communication between you and your pup." The site says its trainers draw "from a broad spectrum of modern, evidence-based techniques," and every program follows a three-step sequence — Teaching, Training, then Proofing in different settings and distractions.

Training programs and prices

Five are published. One-on-One Boot Kamp is a 12-day program spanning 4 weeks, described as the most successful option to date and suited to first-time owners and those resetting routines; rates start at $1,685. Board and Train Boot Kamp runs two weeks (10 full training days) with the dog boarding on site, covering recall, impulse control, leash manners and socialization plus reactivity, resource guarding, aggression and anxiety; rates start at $2,250. Off Leash Obedience Kamp is three days a week for three weeks at $970, with two weeks of recall fundamentals on long lines and positive reinforcement before E-collar communication is introduced in the final week. Advanced Off Leash E-Collar Obedience is two weeks of three sessions each at $905. The 5,4,3,2,1 Behavioral Turnaround Therapy at $2,500 is aimed at severe reactivity, anxiety or adjustment problems and bundles 5 days of board and train, 4 in-home sessions, 3 hands-on days, 2 private handler sessions and a final evaluation day. In-home training is also offered in one-hour sessions.

Daycare, boarding and grooming

DayPlay is $44 full day and $30 half day, with multi-day packages down to $36 and $24.50 per day.
