About The Shepherd Chronicles, LLC

The Shepherd Chronicles is a New Bern dog-training business that publishes its full program table and its prices, which is unusual in this market.

The programs, as published

Day Training runs $1,000 for one week, $1,700 for two and $2,500 for three, and focuses on "solidifying basic obedience, leash manners, place, recall and common problem behaviors such as jumping, counter surfing and crate training"; they present it as an alternative to daycare that lets the owner keep working with the dog in the evenings. The Two-Week Adult Training program is $2,000 and is described as an Adult Board & Train, customizable for obedience, unwanted behaviors or manners at home and in public. The Three-Week Off-Leash Training program is $3,000 and is described as laying the groundwork for "solid on and off-leash obedience and impeccable in-home manners". A two-week Puppy Foundation program covers crate training, potty training and the basics of obedience.

Equipment and method

Their FAQ states that training packages include an Education mini e-collar, a slip leash or a prong collar, depending on the program. Their stated aim is a dog that "wants to work with you, not have to work for you", with training that extends "beyond simple commands".
