About Stevenson Gun Dog and Obedience
A gun dog and obedience facility
Stevenson Gun Dog and Obedience is a full-time gun dog and obedience training facility at 8125 173rd Ave. NW in Ramsey, just minutes northwest of Anoka. Jeff Stevenson has 37 years of experience training dogs for upland game, waterfowl and advanced obedience, and the facility trains year-round through positive reinforcement and repetition.
How it works
The facility takes a maximum of 10 dogs at a time so each gets more attention. Dogs are worked seven days a week, including holidays, with two training sessions a day plus several exercise periods, and they stay in heated and air-conditioned indoor kennels. Families can visit once a week to check progress and work with their dog. Training techniques are matched to each dog's temperament and attitude, and the grounds plus access to more than 150 additional acres support upland and waterfowl training.
Requirements
Dogs must be at least 7 months old, current on rabies, distemper combo and Bordetella vaccines, cleared of intestinal parasites and on flea, tick and worm preventive. Owners supply food, and dogs arrive groomed with nails trimmed.
