About Down Dog Studios
What they offer
Down Dog Studios is a positive reinforcement dog training center on 46th Street North in Fargo that trains dogs of all ages, backgrounds and behavior issues using force-free, reward-based methods. Group classes run on open enrollment, so new students can start when a spot opens.
Classes
Puppy Start Right is a five-week class for young puppies covering socialization, crate and house training, jumping, leash walking, play biting, sit, come, leave it and getting comfortable at the vet. Step-Up Pup bridges the gap for dogs four to ten months old, with greetings, down and stay, mat work, loose leash walking and an introduction to AKC dog sports. Foundation Basic Manners is a six-week class of six to seven dogs for dogs six months and older. An outdoor class meets in local parks to work on leash walking and polite greetings, a Canine Good Citizen skills class reviews the ten CGC skills, and Over-Reactive Rover is a four-dog class for dogs that bark, lunge or struggle around other dogs or people on walks.
Private lessons
Private training is offered in the owner's home within the Fargo-Moorhead area or at the studio, starting with an in-depth consultation. It covers basic manners as well as anxiety and aggression cases such as separation anxiety, reactivity, conflict between dogs in the same household and resource guarding. Training walks are available to current or past clients.
