We took our rescue, Tillie, to Allison after two very scary attacks on other dogs in the household. We did the 2 week board and train and it has made such a difference! Not only did she teach tillie commands but also taught us how to spot and manage signs of conflict in the house (even taking time during the home visit to work with the other dog). We could not be more impressed with Tillies progress. She sent daily progress videos and was responsive to any questions we had after training was complete. If you are here checking reviews like I did because you were afraid you’d have to rehome your dog please give Allison a call! We checked with another trainer first and they said it wouldn’t work because tillie was too old.

WOW! Where do I start? 5 day boarding for my 11 month old German Shepherd, Freya. I loved her of course, but to say she was a handful is putting it mildly. I opted to try out the first 5 day boarding class. The class centered around every day manners, "come", and "place" ("stay here until I say not to", basically) among many other valuable things.

Dropping her off was a breeze, and I received daily videos of her progress. I could not believe when I received a video of my little maniac calmly staying put while the door at the training facility was knocked on and a doorbell rang. She sat there alert but calm. I was amazed.

I really could go on and on with examples of how every day life is far less frustrating, but I guess I could sum it up like this: My dog and are are just closer now. The training staff trained me as much they trained Freya. There is far less frustration between my dog and me since we have something of a common language now. I'm less frustrated because she better understands what I expect out of her, and she's less frustrated because I better understand her communication. It's really hard to describe, but we are closer than ever now. More walks and dog park time because we both have better experiences with these since we have such better communication and a much deeper bond.

In early 2025 I fully intend to do the other two 5 day boarding classes. I can't recommend this trainer enough. Oh and by the way, if you're wondering if your dog will forget who you are after the time away at the trainer (as I did along with many others), all I can say is that the reunion was amazing. She was so excited to see me. It was something special. 🙂

My 2 year old Mal went to Marcum for a 20 day training. She was reactive ,hard to walk and impossible to have house guests. My dog and I had a great experience it was 75 percent training me and 25 percent the dog. Andrea and Allison were amazing they made house visits and really took they’re time to teach me . I look forward to boarding my dog here in the future and continuing my training as an owner .My Mal loves these people and she doesn’t take strangers.Big shout out to Rosko 🙂!

Hello! My name is Marina and I recently had the pleasure of sending Daisy here for 15 days total 😃 It’s such a pleasant experience working with Marcum and seeing my dog grow . She had a lot of stubbornness and anxiety revolving around people and other dogs . Not aggressive just very vocal about her “STAY AWAY IM SCARED” behavior 😳 with marcum we have built stepping stones for OPPORTUNITY! I’m confident with the things she has learned and will continue to learn she will be able to handle her emotions better 😁. Daisy has came back every time still my happy loving pup! Personality is there just new boundaries and understanding of communication between us. I’ve already recommended family here for a troubled pup they have as well once they are good financially to get theirs along as well. Every picture Daisy is as happy as ever and she loved the trainer as well 🥰 even before the training was finished I felt more confident in taking her on some outings that went much better than they had before . Even after it all, the trainer had offered additional training , advised the daily price so it wasn’t a surprise to me of the costs, and advised the other things they are able to teach her to make taking her out easier like how to teach her to go under chairs / tables etc. the prices are very reasonable as well considering these will be life long carried lessons. 😁 thank you Marcum! I will definitely be returning and thank you for taking care of Miss Daisy 🎀

We got a Rottweiler for companionship and protection. But we underestimated how powerful and strong she would be, fully grown. She is a sweet loving girl but stubborn and we needed help. That’s when we found Marcum K9 Obedience. We are truckers and they were able to work around our schedule. They worked their magic and got Luna leash trained and obedience trained. Today I was able to take Luna on a 20min walk/jog and she matched my pace the whole way. We no longer dread taking her places because we now know how to communicate with her. Thank you!
