We fostered a puppy through Gigi’s and absolutely loved our experience. Catfish was the best boy, whoever gets to adopt him will be so lucky to be loved by him and to love him right back.

The staff is incredibly kind and genuinely cares about every animal that comes through their doors. We worked with Bryce, Dawn, and Ashley, and all three were so helpful, responsive, and supportive. They made our first foster experience smooth, informative, and truly rewarding.

Everyone at Gigi's was wonderful! You can tell they really care about the dogs in their charge. The facility is incredibly clean, so you know that everyone loves what they do. Adopting Milo (Daryl) was a great experience, and we can't wait to come back for some training. Until then, know that he's figured out couches, beds and bones. He's stolen all our blankets for his own blankie pile and has gotten all of the cuddles. Thank you for all you do for these pups!

I also fell in love and adopted two of my fosters! Fostering helps give a ‘trial run’ with the dogs you foster if indeed you are seeking a best friend of your own. And even if you are not seeking to adopt, you are helping so many innocent animals that desperately need a break from a shelter environment while the shelter is working with the community to find each dog their ‘forever home’.

Fostering is THE MOST REWARDING VOLUNTEER WORK in the world and it’s only a small commitment at a time. Typically only a week or two for each dog you help. Please consider it! Especially at Gigi’s!!! Top Notch rescue !!!

I have come here a few years ago following Sam Short as he's been the most trusted trainer for my boy Cooper since I adopted him 10 years ago. After spending so much on training for a boy who has severe anxiety and nervous system, I found Sam and never looked back. Sam was the only trainer Cooper actually took to and loved (he was always excited to see 'Sam-wise' as we called him). When Sam took his dream position at Gigi's, it was a no brainer to follow him there. With the resources he had access to and the tools he continues to learn about, Cooper went from a boy that couldn't pass someone on the other side of the street yet alone walk past a stranger to someone who would choose to ignore the nerves and continue about his life as the Sassy boy he is and love going to the vet (like WHAT?!). Sam helped me understand Cooper's behavior, triggers, body language and how to accommodate to him and help him through his days; something no other trainer did. A couple years ago, I wasn't seeing the progress that we should of been getting with all the work going into sessions and Sam recommended we have the behaviorist (Dr. Heron) talk with him and our vet to find the best course of treatment for Cooper. With all their help, we switched up his medications and saw such a huge change…he was happier, sassier, and more him than I have ever seen. Even before this he began to be able to greet others (on his terms) that he didn't know, enjoy his time at the vet and learn how to rig the treat system. As training continued with Sam, Cooper became the sassiest 'no treat left behind' boy I've ever met.

Training with Sam was such a great experience that my husband and I were able to get pictures of the dogs with us on our wedding day, something I never thought would of been possible. Then shortly after he succumbed to an illness that required so many vet visits and blood transfusions; again something I thought would be a struggle for him. But since training with Sam, Cooper and I had this bond you can't explain and he trusted me and could handle all the appointments he once HATED with great pleasure. I will forever be grateful for the life Cooper was able to have with the help of Sam.

Since I had nothing but great experiences with Sam working with Cooper and I, I decided to take my other dog, Sally, to work with him as we navigate the loss of Cooper and her cancer prognosis.

Long review short: Sam (and Gigi's) is the best place to train your dog. They help you not only understand your pup, but also help you the tools that will allow you to work set your pup up for success. These trainers (especially Sam) never stop learning and researching new information in the training world and every session is unique to you and your dog; they don't go by the same 'course' or dominance method 95% trainers use that end up with more harm than benefit for the dog (and owner).
