About Dog’s Way Training Club

About Dog's Way Training Club

Dog's Way Training Club trades on the line "TEACHING YOU TO COMMUNICATE YOUR DOG'S WAY" and lists four

strands: "TRAINING, BOARDING, NUTRITION, PHOTOGRAPHY". The address is "5482 Main st., Lexington mi

48450", phone 810-479-7191, with a second boarding number, 586-770-9379. The service area is "Sanilac

County, St. Clair County, Northern Macomb".

"We are the experts in training around distractions, handling behavior issues and keeping your dog

healthy and happy. We custom tailor one-on-one lessons to your families specific needs, along with

group classes."

The published list is: "Basic obedience, Advanced obedience, Behavior issues, Day Training, Help with

the distractions you have in & around your home, Group classes & events, Off leash training, Real world

practice, where you want to go, Nutritional support, Board and Train, Socialization, Boarding".

– **Board & train** is offered in three lengths: "10 DAY", "14 Day", "21 DAY", with off-leash training.

– **Puppy class** — "The cost is $175 for 6 weeks. (Week 7 is a make up class)", held at "Dog's Way

Training Club, Croswell & Lapeer".

– **Group classes** cover "OBEDIENCE AROUND DISTRACTIONS, WALKING ON A LEASH, RECALL, HOLDING A PLACE,

– **Private lessons** — "No artificial situations here! Our goal is for you to enjoy life with your

dog; that's why we train both you and your dog in everyday situations."

– **Behavior modification** — "We work with the most severe cases or anxiety, aggression and fearful

behaviors… we will work with you in home one on one to build confidence and change these

behaviors. There is more to behavior modification than training, we look at the health/wellness of

dog, diet as well as lifestyle and routine." A free evaluation is offered: "Call/text for a FREE

evaluation."

issues, GI problems".

Boarding

Boarding is home-based and deliberately small: "LOCATED IN CROSWELL ON M90. OUR PRIVATE HOME BASED

BOARDING IS STAFFED 24/7… WE OFFER A VERY LOW STRESS BOARDING EXPERIENCE WITH ONLY A FEW OTHER DOGS

EVER BOARDING AT ONCE. OUR KENNELS ARE HEATED AND AIR CONDITIONED WITH A LARGE PLAY YARD WHERE THEY CAN

WATCH THE DAILY FARM LIFE. DOGS MUST BE EVALUATED BEFORE BOARDING." The services page adds "Less than

10 dogs", "XL Kennels Available" and "No Breed Restrictions". Training clients are "WELCOME TO

ENRICHMENT DAYS WHILE THEY STAY", and a shuttle service is available.

Memberships run "1 Year" or "Lifetime" and include "Group classes – multiple locations across Metro

Detroit", "Group events – picnics, dinners, fun location walks, tricks classes" and "Pack walks…

schedule one in your neighborhood". Published events include "PAINTING WITH PAWS, SCENT WORKSHOPS,

BBQ'S, HOLIDAY PARTIES, FIREWORKS PRACTICE, BBQ, FIELD DAY, LURE COURSING, DINNER WITH DOGS".

The people and the dogs

"Rachel is an OU graduate with a Bachelor of Science. She began working for Invisible Fence after

college… With her knowledge of biology and an understanding of how a good diet is just as important

for dogs as it is for humans she began to delve into the world of canine nutrition. She has been

training & providing nutritional counseling for 12 years to clients and has helped clear up many

ailments such as sensitive stomach, skin allergies and even behavioral issues with good nutrition."

She is also the photographer: "Rachel is often found behind a camera lens photographing her favorite

subject, dogs."

Two working dogs are described. Charlie, "a 15 year old American Field Lab", adopted at eight weeks,

"still works part time helping to evaluate and socialize dogs" and "is also a certified therapy dog";

the page carries a later note: "CHARLIE PASSED AWAY AT 18. Lived an amazing full life." Gus "is a 9

year old American Foxhound/Beagle mix" whom "Eric and Rachel fostered"; he "is extremely high-energy

and is happiest when he has a job to do." Eric appears elsewhere on the site working a client dog

("Bogey gaining confidence with Eric").
