About Bad Habit K9 Training
Balanced training in Buffalo
Bad Habit K9 Training is a dog training business in Buffalo that treats every dog as an individual. Its balanced approach combines positive and negative reinforcement with clear communication, aiming to break bad habits while building trust and mutual respect. Training also teaches owners to read body language, vocal cues, social structure and environmental triggers so they can manage stress and reactivity.
The trainers
Owners and head trainers Anthony Keith and Emily Wallerich both come from working-dog backgrounds. Anthony interned in dog training, then worked on basic obedience, reactivity management, scent detection and protection work, and in 2025 completed an intensive program at Tarheel Canine in police K9 obedience, tracking and protection. Emily spent six years in dog daycare and boarding before working her way up to full-time trainer, with experience in basic obedience, scent detection and protection dog fundamentals. Both train their own dogs toward explosives detection certification and protection sport titles.
